We collect reusable art & school materials that would otherwise be thrown away.
The Wastshed is a creative Reuse Center in Chicago (two locations!).
Currently taking wishlists of schools throught Chicago-land area who needs help collecting donations for their classrooms.
We Make them available to teachers, artists,& anyone who needs them at a low cost.

The WasteShed is 75% self-supporting through sales, but we still depend on grants and donations from our friends to operate. Even a small amount can make a big difference for our ability to serve the community.
At the WasteShed's monthly volunteer night, we sort materials, organize the space, tackle larger projects, clean, eat snacks and hang out. Bring a friend, and meet some new people!
New volunteers must fill out our volunteer interest form at thewasteshed.com/volunteer before volunteering.
Volunteers must wear masks at all times when not actively eating or drinking and will be asked to provide proof of vaccination upon arrival
At the WasteShed we partner with surrounding Chicago schools support teachers in receiving the much-needed school supplies.
How can you make an impact? Begin by selecting a school to support. Each school has a wish list of supplies they would like— items can range from pencils to easels.
Once you've checked off the items from the list, schedule a time that works best for you to drop off your items at one of our WasteShed locations.
After you drop off your donated materials, we'll take it from there and bring the items to the school you're supporting.
